Meet Amanda
Amanda is a writer, software designer, and cat-enthusiast who’s lived all over before moving to Austin, TX. She is the creator of the Austin Sapphics Discord community and has been dedicated to creating resources for the queer community since she came out as queer at 30-years-old. In her free time, she loves hiking, traveling, good food, going to the renaissance faire, and cuddling up with a book.

Meet Allison
Allison is a multi-award winning theater director, author, and producer who’s hugely passionate about telling queer stories. They've lived most of their life in the PNW before moving to Texas in 2017. Most of their free time is spent baking cookies and cuddling their dog Ralph, but when they're not doing that, they're developing plays, reading novels, and writing poetry (their first poetry memoir, Just Another Dead Daughter, about their coming out experience was published in 2024.)

Our mission
Our mission is to empower and celebrate sapphic people by talking openly about every part of the sapphic experience—no gatekeeping, no judgment. By uplifting diverse and intersectional people doing amazing things for our community, we will create a space where EVERYONE under the sapphic umbrella is seen, celebrated, and connected.
Support Simply Sapphic
We conceptualize, create, and record everything by ourselves, so all support, no matter how small, is appreciated immensely!
Honestly I'm loving this so much. It's really nice to hear your stories and your experiences, so many of which are things I just wasn't around for. Imma get sappy and dramatic but like, in a world full of so much pain and hurt, it feels really good to hear someone I care about talk about their journey towards joy.
Amanda & Allison, I listened to the first three episodes of your podcast and my immediate gut response was Wow just Wow! They were excellent filled with such authenticity! I listen to a lot of podcasts and chose to watch yours on YouTube for the more personal effect and I am so glad I did! Top Notch!
I just wanted to let you know that I've loved everything about this podcast so far and can't wait to hear more. Amanda - I am currently going through all the things you said you experienced as you were coming out (questioning if I'm pan or lesbian, figuring out my style, etc) so the timing of this in my life is absolutely perfect and needed.
